Barbara Hendrick, the well-known American lyric soprano and jazz singer will perform in the Concert Hall in Jameos del Agua on November 25th. On this occasion she will be accompanied by Matthias Algotsson on the piano and Ulf Englund on the guitar.
Barbara began her career as a lyric singer in 1974 and has acted in the world’s major opera houses including the Paris Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House in London and La Scala in Milan. She worked with conductors like Herbert von Karajan and Neville Marriner. Hendricks is is deeply involved with refugees and supports the United Nations Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). She has been appointed an honorary lifetime ambassador by this organization. Since 2000 she has been a member of the board of the Foundation for Refugee Education Trust, which is dedicated to the post-primary education of the world’s young refugees.
Jameos del Agua will undoubtedly be one of the most special performances of her European tour. The hall is a magical place where the acoustics of the volcanic cave will thrill the audience.
